Growing up, I spent a good deal of my time in Norman and one of the best parts of the summer was heading out to Jazz in June. None of my friends were old enough for a car just yet, so one of our parents would drop us off at Brookhaven Village off 36th & W. Robinson in Norman and we’d go back and forth between the music, the French bakery, and then the Mazzio’s Pizza at the end of the night where we’d have to use the pay phone to call for a ride home.

Its been several years since I was at the annual concert series, but I’m planning to head out to Jazz in June this coming weekend (and no, I don’t have to call my parents to get a ride to Norman).
