Anyone else surprised at the number of art galleries here in the metro area? It seems like I hear about a new one every couple weeks. Just goes to show that you need to get out of the house more and explore where you live. There’s much more to do in OKC than hit the movies or party in Bricktown.

Angi and I met up with Stephen Kovash, owner of the Istvan Gallery at Urban Art. The gallery off 12th & N. Western has a new show right now and it opened Friday night.

Along with an art gallery, Urban Art also houses work space for a couple local glass artists. While I was there for the art show, I ended up talking to the blown glass artists and learned how the process works.

They made sure to keep me from their huge 2000+ degree glass melting ovens.
