Rocky Horror Picture Show - Lyric Theatre
Yessss… I got tickets to the press preview of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Lyric Theatre this Wednesday night. I’ve never seen the live theater performance or the movie adaptation, but I’ve heard about it for years - particularly the part about the audience participation.
Uh… BTW, this show isn’t for the kiddies. Its rated R for Strong Language and Sexually Explicit Themes.
I remember leaving a random movie one night at a theater in Norman and passing some people in line for a midnight showing of RHPS. Lets just say I saw A LOT of black leather and white make-up standing in that line. The best part was still being old enough to need a ride home from the movies and watching my mom squirm as she tried to explain what ‘transvestite‘ means to me and my friends.
I’m hoping the press preview show I’ll be attending will encourage audience participation. I read something about bringing your own props to the performance (flashlights, unbuttered toast, and water pistols) and dressing as your favorite character. I plan to show up with several of the props, but I think the brass at OPUBCO would rather I not show up to a media event wearing a leather corset and fishnet stockings.
Lyric Theatre’s showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show runs from October 9th and runs through November 1st. Check wimgo.com more info - The Rocky Horror Show

I’ll be there too! On another note, don’t forget about the Renegade Picture Show where they’ll be showing Slither on Saturday October 18th.
