How is this not a great idea? Its no U.N. Year of the Potato, but Watonga has set aside two entire days to celebrate cheese. This isn’t one of those shady back alley festivals either. The city is doing it right and shutting down main street for a parade and other cheese festival activities. I’ve already finished my entry for the kiddo coloring contest (I’ll just lie about my age as I turn it in).

I’m no cheese connoisseur. If its in my kitchen, its in its naturally
powdered state packaged in a box of macaroni or thinly sliced and wrapped in plastic. It’d probably be in my best interests to make that hour and 15 minute drive from OKC to cultured dairy heaven for the Watonga Cheese Festival Oct. 10-11.
