Remington Park Birthday Bash

Still looking for Labor Day plans? Remington Park’s 20th b-day is Sept. 1st and they’re throwing a huge party. Horse racing, a casino, food/drinks, and stuff for the kids should make for a decent day out of the office.

Nine Inch Nails at the Ford Center

Trent Reznor and the boys will be stopping in OKC and unfortunately I’m not going. I’d love to be at the Ford Center tonight to catch the show and the NIN crowd they’ll bring in. This industrial rock band is touring with their new album ‘Ghosts.’
For anyone that gets a chance to go, let me […]

Dave Matthews Band in Bricktown

Autumn visited the month of August Wednesday night for the live Dave Matthews Band show at the Bricktown Ballpark. The weather was close to perfect for an outdoor concert.
Instead of pony’ng up $65 for tickets, I joined some friends and about 50 others on top of the parking garage by the ball park. We couldn’t […]

DFEST 2008

I made the drive to Tulsa for DFEST this weekend. It was blazing hot the entire time, but that was easy to get over considering all the great music (I also had my share of snow cones).
DFEST is considered the most comprehensive music conference and festival in the Midwest. This year featured 150 artists and […]

fightin’ the foo Thursday

So a friend of mine called earlier this week with a problem.
She had an extra ticket to the Foo Fighters show at the Ford Center this Thursday night. Being the selfless, supportive, and kind friend that I am, I offered to accompany her to the concert. Disaster adverted.
UPDATE - We didn’t get into the show. […]

Midsummer Nights’ Fair

If I’d only known about this before, I would’ve made a bigger deal out of it.
I got a video assignment to head out to Norman and shoot a video about Midsummer Nights Fair. I’d never heard of it and honestly planned to get there, do a couple interviews and get some basic shots, then head […]

Lyric Theatre - Swing!

I’ve made a couple different stops by Lyric Theatre in the last couple months and they really are doing some cool things. I shot a project with Dave and Angi talking about some of the renovations made recently to their location off 16th street in NW Oklahoma City. They also talked about some of this […]

Renegade Picture Show

A friend of mine told me about the guys with Renegade Picture Show. Basically, its a group of people and a traveling drive-in movie.
Their website describes what their doing as “an impromptu drive-up drive-in.” Everyone meets up at a designated location, a video projector is setup to show a movie on the side of a […]

Jazz in June

I made it out to Jazz in June yesterday for blues night. A couple of the board members told me over 8,000 people were on hand in the Brookhaven Village parking lot Thursday for the free concert. They are expecting almost 10,000 people Friday and possibly 30,000 at Andrews Park for headlining act Chuck Mangione.

Jazz in June

Growing up, I spent a good deal of my time in Norman and one of the best parts of the summer was heading out to Jazz in June. None of my friends were old enough for a car just yet, so one of our parents would drop us off at Brookhaven Village off 36th & […]
