The Helium Project - The Non
The RedHouse kids will be hosting The Helium Project’s second session this Thursday night, October 9th. Oklahoma City based band The Non will perform an acoustic set in front of what is looking to be another full house.
I mentioned something about the first Helium Project show with Ali Harter a couple weeks ago. The show […]
Rocky Horror Picture Show - Lyric Theatre
Yessss… I got tickets to the press preview of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Lyric Theatre this Wednesday night. I’ve never seen the live theater performance or the movie adaptation, but I’ve heard about it for years - particularly the part about the audience participation.
Uh… BTW, this show isn’t for the kiddies. […]
fair food and the tattoo game
With parking traffic backed up for what seemed like miles, I think most of Oklahoma was at the fair Sunday afternoon.
One thing I learned from the Oklahoma State Fair this year - go with several friends and all chip in money to buy vender food. Seven of us went in together and kept from breaking […]
The Helium Project - Ali Harter
Friends of mine over at RedHouse are hosting a fall concert series at their place here in OKC. First up in the series is Ali Harter.
I’m looking forward to The Helium Project series (plus I’ll be one of the guys filming the whole thing). The guys at RedHouse have this big idea of bringing together […]
12×12 Art Show & Sale
The 19th annual 12×12 Art Show & Sale is coming up in the next couple weeks. The event on September 20th will showcase 150 Oklahoma artists working within the parameters of twelve-by-twelve-inches and will help raise money for the art scene in Oklahoma. Over $60k was raised at this event last year.

the one time when corn and cinnamon rolls go together
Food is always at the top of the list in my Oklahoma State Fair plan of attack. You have to set your priorities when you have so many options.
1. corn on the cob
2. cinnamon roll
3. lemonade and/or jug of rootbeer
My parents got me hooked on the roasted corn on the cob and the cinnamon […]
Remington Park Birthday Bash
Still looking for Labor Day plans? Remington Park’s 20th b-day is Sept. 1st and they’re throwing a huge party. Horse racing, a casino, food/drinks, and stuff for the kids should make for a decent day out of the office.
For more Labor Day ideas, check wimgo’s Labor Day page.
take me out to the ballgame
Following Sushi Thursday, a couple of us went to the RedHawks game at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks lost to Iowa, but we had a great time (press suite tickets didn’t hurt either - thanks OPUBCO).
I’m not a huge sports fan, but I have been known to hit up a RedHawks game now and […]
Nine Inch Nails at the Ford Center
Trent Reznor and the boys will be stopping in OKC and unfortunately I’m not going. I’d love to be at the Ford Center tonight to catch the show and the NIN crowd they’ll bring in. This industrial rock band is touring with their new album ‘Ghosts.’
For anyone that gets a chance to go, let me […]
Dave Matthews Band in Bricktown
Autumn visited the month of August Wednesday night for the live Dave Matthews Band show at the Bricktown Ballpark. The weather was close to perfect for an outdoor concert.
Instead of pony’ng up $65 for tickets, I joined some friends and about 50 others on top of the parking garage by the ball park. We couldn’t […]
